Build routes for the browser

With Coverground you build a complete walking or cycling route that your visitors follow step by step in their browser — no app to install. Out on the route, it guides each visitor to the next stop, with a short story and photos when they arrive. Share each route as its own link, or embed it in your website.

And Coverground is private, hosted in Europe, and accessible by default — more on that below.

Stop 2

Embed a route on your own site

Every published route comes with a ready-made snippet to copy — paste it into a blog post, a club page or a shop. No build step, nothing for visitors to install, and it won't weigh your site down.

Routes only appear on sites you approve. Add a website to allow it; on other sites, nothing loads. The card below is a live embed:

Stop 3

Building a route

Coverground turns your places and stories into the route.

What you do

  • Choose walking or cycling.
  • Drop your stops on the map and name the route.
  • Add a short story and photos at each stop.

What Coverground does

  • Works out a walkable, step-free path.
  • Turns it into a route page that points each visitor from stop to stop.
  • Makes each route available as a shareable page and an embeddable card.

Stop 4

How it's built

  • Private Your visitors' location and the direction they're facing stay on their device; none of it is sent to a server.
  • European servers The app and its data are hosted in Europe, under European rules.
  • Counting, not tracking We tally how your routes are used — how many people open them and how far they get — so you get useful numbers, never a clue who anyone is. No ads, no tracking cookies, no profiles, nothing following people around.
  • Accessible The routes you publish are generated to be walkable by everyone, with a step-by-step text interface that works with a screen reader.

This isn't a theoretical wish list: we think a routing app can only be built this way. That said, Coverground is in beta, so we're keeping a little room for error — we'd love to hear what could be better.
